Fact and fiction in a memoir

Where should a writer draw the line between fact and fiction in a memoir? Does Tobias Wolff lie about who he really was? Does it matter?

A memoir should be only facts that the writer remembers. There shouldn't be any made up stories or fiction in a writers memoir.
