Critique on This Boy's Life Project

-Marrissa had a cool painting with really vivid colors. It showed jack falling down a road and into a mess. It reminded me of when he was moving in with Dwight. It was a very interesting painting.

-Albert had a great poem that had examples from the book. It expressed Jack's different poses throughout the book and has examples of things he did. The diction was really creative and gave the poem more meaning. It was a great poem.

-Ashley Rockwell had a poster with different themes from the memoir. There were many pictures from the movie that illustrated the themes. One theme on the poster was dream big. Jack was a dreamer and he wanted to go to college and get a career. The poster was very creative.

Fact and fiction in a memoir

Where should a writer draw the line between fact and fiction in a memoir? Does Tobias Wolff lie about who he really was? Does it matter?

A memoir should be only facts that the writer remembers. There shouldn't be any made up stories or fiction in a writers memoir.

This boy's life

Do you agree with the quotes? How do people assume poses in high school? Why is corruption a part of life?
I agree both of the quotes. People pose as a type of person they want to be. There is an image in peoples minds that they try to live up to. In high school no matter who you are, you belong to a title or a specific type of person (jocks, nerds, loners, cool kids, rich kids, quiet kids, etc.). The image you try to pose yourself as makes your personality. It is impossible to not pose as something. Corruption is inevitable in life. There will always be someone who is corrupt because there is always a balance of good and evil.

Mo Money Mo Problems

The fastest way to make a lot of money is to draw it. The best way to make a lot of money is to print it. New money is new and old money is old.
