civil disobedience

I am against the government censoring the media and news. The best way to prevent them from censoring information is doing something to protest when they do censor something. The best way to have a successful protest is to have a peaceful and nonviolent one, like Martin Luther King Jr. It is wrong to be kept from information.

Cindy- Cindy is holding up the peace sign in front of the white house.
Seattle 1999- A guy is breaking through a glass window to get in a store. There is a trash can on its side. There is a huge protest or riot.
Do the right thing- A guy is yelling or screaming
Gandhi- He is wearing a robe and looks cold
Thoreau- believed people need to act against things they oppose.

renegades of funk

Chief Sitting Bull, Tom Paine, Dr. Martin Luther King, and Malcolm X are all mentioned in this song. Zack de la Rocha admired that they were renegades and stood up for what they believed for.

Bradbury's Writing Style

-"As he stood there the sky over the house screamed." (Pg. 13)
-"They're about nonexistent people, figments of imagination, if they're fiction. And if they're nonfiction, it's worse, one professor calling another an idiot, one philosopher screaming down another's gullet. All of them running about, putting out the stars and extinguishing the sun. You come away lost." (Pg. 62)
-"Her face was like a snow-covered island upon which rain might fall, but it felt no rain; over which clouds might pass their moving shadows, but she felt no shadow." (p.13)
-"Burn all , burn everything. Fire is bright and fire is clean"Page 60
- "She's dead. Let's talk about someone alive, for goodness sake." page 72

Bradbury uses a very imaginative language with a lot of metaphors of fire. The images he makes are very vivid and you can almost feel the heat of the fire. Bradbury uses a lot more metaphors than Arthur Miller and uses a lot more descriptive details.

Science fiction

Science fiction is a genre of fiction that has an imaginary plot with scientific reasons supporting it. Edgar Allen Poe wrote a story about a trip to the moon. Mary Shelley wrote two science fiction books Frankenstein and The Last Man that defined the form of a science fiction novel.

Banned books

The general reason for the banning of books was because of racial slurs, sexuality, and profanity. This banning of books isn't supporting our right of freedom of speech. Our country has censorship in peoples freedom of speech. I have read two of the books on the list, To Kill a Mockingbird and Of Mice and Men. If I haven't read these books I would have less education of the themes in the books.
